PUF Pre-Kindergarten Programs for 2026–27 School Year

High Prairie School Division offers high-quality, play-based Pre-Kindergarten programs for children who may be eligible for Program Unit Funding (PUF). PUF is a granted provided by Alberta Education to school authorities for children with developmental disabilities who require additional support beyond that offered in a regular Early Childhood Services program.
𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 E𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞?
• Children between 2 years, 8 months and less than 4 years, 8 months as of September 1, 2026
• Children who have been assessed and diagnosed by a qualified professional (Pediatrician, Registered Speech Language Pathologist, or Registered Psychologist)
Our Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms Provide:
🧩 Focused intervention in a small group
🧩 Strategic use of educational assistant support
🧩 Environmental supports (eg. visual schedules, well-established routines, adapted furniture)
🧩 Support from service providers (speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, behaviour consultants, etc).
