The High Prairie School Division Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 for their regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting proceeded through the agenda items with one addition to the agenda.
The meeting began with delegations from Katie Doucette, Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, Kienan Wilson, Director of System Assurance, and Monica Edwards, Director of Post-Secondary Pathways.
Katie Doucette presented on the current status of safety throughout the division. She gave an overview of where the division is in terms of safety, where the division is going, and answered questions from the Board.
Kienan Wilson provided Trustees with an overview of the Technology Department. Kienan spoke to the team that is currently supporting our technology services in the division. He further discussed his role in supporting our vice principals in their role in schools, practicum student placements, career fairs, and working with school administrators on their annual education results reports (AERRs) and education plans. He further discussed our cybersecurity compliance plans with the division’s new Cybersecurity and Privacy Specialist. He closed with internal cross-training plans, professional learning to keep staff up to date on their skills, and upcoming projects.
Monica Edwards started her presentation with an overview of her role within the division and how it has changed from the previous school year. She further discussed the career coaching team, school start-up, and summer school offerings. Monica went on to share the successes of Dual Credit courses for students. She further discussed the campus tours that are scheduled for this school year and that they are scheduled not to occur during times when students are in school. She included content on the credits earned by students and other opportunities to learn more information on the career coaching program through the refreshed webpage. She wrapped up her presentation with upcoming events and opportunities for students.
Trustees then discussed the next item, community engagement sessions. The questions and dates have been approved and will be posted on our website and emailed to all families to RSVP for the engagement sessions.
The Board received the Superintendent’s Report and Finance Report, and correspondence before adjourning the open portion of the meeting.
