We are pleased to announce a new leadership appointment for the upcoming school year. ππ¦ππ§ππ ππ«πππ₯ππ² π‘ππ¬ ππππ§ ππ©π©π¨π’π§πππ ππ’ππ ππ«π’π§ππ’π©ππ₯ of Roland Michener Secondary School
Amanda began her career at Roland Michener in 2006 and has spent the past 20 years supporting students and contributing to the school community. Throughout her time in the classroom, she has taught a wide range of junior and senior high science courses, including Chemistry and CALM.
Since 2023, Amanda has served as a Learning Support Teacher, collaborating with students, staff, and families to address diverse learning needs and promote student success. In this role, she has supported the development and monitoring of Individual Student Plans, provided individual and small-group support, overseen divisional assessments, and worked as part of the schoolβs Student Support Team. She has also contributed to the development of High Prairie School Divisionβs Literacy and Numeracy Frameworks.
Amanda has taken on a number of leadership roles throughout her career. She has facilitated Collaborative Team Meetings, led numeracy initiatives, and mentored new teachers. Her experience also extends beyond the school and Division. Amanda was invited by Alberta Education to participate in a provincial science curriculum working group and to contribute to the writing of Chemistry 30 diploma exam questions.
Amanda has been actively involved in the Roland Michener school community throughout her career. She has coached junior and senior high basketball and senior girls volleyball, served as a graduation coordinator, and supported numerous school and student activities. These experiences have allowed her to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the broader community.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science with an Advanced Major in Chemistry from Dalhousie University.
High Prairie School Division congratulates Amanda on her appointment and wishes her every success in her new role as Vice Principal of Roland Michener Secondary School.
