We are thrilled to officially welcome Keshav Bhattarai as our new Vertical Farm Technician.
Growing up in a rural community in Nepal, Keshav developed a passion for farming at an early age. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the Agriculture and Forestry University in Nepal before moving to Canada in January 2023 to pursue graduate studies at the University of Alberta. He recently completed his MSc in Plant Science (2025).
Throughout his graduate journey, Keshav earned several notable awards, including the Alberta Wheat Commission Graduate Research Scholarship in Crop Science (2023) and the Western Grain Research Foundation Scholarship (2024).
While conducting research in the Peace River Region, Keshav witnessed firsthand the challenges local farmers regularly face—unpredictable weather, fluctuating commodity prices, and other pressures that significantly impact productivity and profitability. His graduate research highlighted these issues and sparked a deeper interest in exploring innovative solutions.
This led him to the world of controlled environment agriculture, particularly a hydroponic system where technology, sustainability, and innovation work together to overcome real-world farming challenges. His passion for modern agricultural systems and cutting-edge technology inspired him to pursue this role as a Vertical Farm Technician.
