“We’re Rollin’!” – Kevin Baker Named Bus Driver of the Year

We’re proud to congratulate Kevin Baker, who has been named 𝐁𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑–𝟐𝟒! Kevin has also been nominated for the provincial Bus Driver of the Year Award through the Student Transportation Association of Alberta—a well-earned recognition of his dedication and heart.

Kevin drives a rural route stretching 150 km across the north and east of High Prairie. He began as a spare driver in 2009, became a full-time driver in August 2022, and has always been an enthusiastic supporter of field trips and student events.

Kevin is a kid at heart and loves working with children and students. He is a perfect fit for the role and is always seen with a smile on his face. When the buses line up at the end of the day at their first school and 3:19 strikes, he can be heard, without fail, on the bus radio stating, "annnnnnnd, we're rollllllin......"

Kevin has driven the bus for our food bank drive for a number of years, volunteers with the bus for toy drives, and has been willing to help out and drive when needed by the division.

He has even dressed for the occasion, donning an elf suit for his Christmas volunteering. As mentioned above, he loves working with kids and is our "gentle giant."

Congratulations, Kevin, and thank you for your dedication and heart over these 15 years.
