The Government of Alberta has announced an update regarding diploma exams. On their website,
www.alberta.ca/diploma-exams.aspx, they have stated that the January 2021, April 2021, June 2021, and August 2021 diploma exams are optional due to COVID-19.
They go further to mention that there are circumstances where a student may need to write a diploma exam, such as when required by a post-secondary institution, when students want to raise their mark, or are interested in having a diploma mark on their transcript.
We encourage students who wish to write diploma exams to speak with their teachers and parents. Once written, the diploma exam mark (worth 30%) will be reflected on their transcript.
