Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Message
Posted on 08/30/2021
I would like to welcome all staff and students back into our schools for what I hope will be a full year of face-to-face, engaged learning. While the provincial government has lifted many restrictions, we will stay tuned to the changing conditions and respond to rules and protocols around COVID19. Presently only students from K-12 need to wear masks on the bus. There is no mandate for any student or staff to wear masks, social distance or stay in a cohort while at school.

This year we are not planning to run our At-Home Learning (AHL) School.  It is our hope that all students will be able to attend in-person learning. Again, we will stay alert to any changes in the environment, and our staff will stay flexible to respond to any arising alterations or requirements.

I was so appreciative of the community, the parents, and the students who were patient, caring of each other, and responsive to the needs of all. The teachers and school staff went above and beyond last year to provide a good education in spite of all that with which they had to contend.

I am looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year with anticipation that we can get back to a solid education, field trips, parents and volunteers in the schools, sports teams and tournaments, camaraderie, campus tours, and celebration events.   I am hopeful that our students and staff are safe, healthy, and ready to engage in education. I am confident that regardless of what turn of events we are met with, our staff will meet the challenge, use their creativity, and generate innovative techniques to continue to provide our students with the best learning opportunities and support.

I wish everyone in our school community a good 2021-2022 school year.
