
The HPSD Board of Trustees met via Zoom on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, for their regularly scheduled meeting. After additions to the agenda, the meeting proceeded through the agenda items.
The Board reaffirmed Board Policy 1 - Division Vision Statment and Values. The following Board policies received first, second, and third and final reading:
- Policy 3 - Role of the Trustee
- Policy 4 - Trustee Code of Ethics and its Appendix
- Policy 6 - Role of the Vice-Chair
- Policy 10 - Board Delegation of Authority
Trustees reaffirmed the Board's priorities, goals, and outcomes for the 2023-24 school year.
The Board approved travel and subsistence for the Public School Boards' Association (PSBA) Awards Banquet for two representatives per award to attend the Awards Banquet in Calgary on June 3, 2023.
The 2023-26 Education Plan was approved, as presented.
The 2023 Three-Year Capital Plan was also approved, as presented.
The Board approved capital purchases for a new transmission for fleet unit 425 and for a cell phone booster at the Learning Support Centre.
Trustees approved the nomination of the High Prairie Native Friendship Centre as High Prairie School Division's candidate for the 2023 Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) Zone 1 Friends of Education Award.
The Board received and accepted the Finance Report.
Trustees then moved to return to closed and then adjourned the open portion of the meeting.
